Saluting America’s Heroes

Every year, November 11 marks the day that we honor our nation’s veterans. While we believe in saluting these brave men and women every day, the holiday is a good day to go above and beyond, just as they have done.

Veterans Day is celebrated alongside Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, both holidays observed in Europe and Britain, respective, that celebrate the end of World War I. In fact, Armistice Day is the reason Veterans Day exists: in 1945, a World War II veteran, Raymond Weeks, advocated for a holiday that would give thanks and honor all vets, not just those from World War I. President Eisenhower signed the bill that made Veterans Day a law in 1954.

Cookies by Design offers a number of patriotic cookie gifts to share, such as our “Grateful Country” gift. If you know someone recovering from war, there are a number of Get Well Soon baskets, such as “Speedy Recovery”, to send or serve at a gathering. Since our cookies taste like they’re homemade and fresh from the oven, we guarantee that your veteran will warm, welcome and loved.

From everyone at Cookies by Design: veterans, you are national treasures. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do.
