Autumn has Arrived: Fall into a Sweet Feast

Autumn officially begins on September 23, and we’re ready. While summer stone fruits are great, we’re excited to pick apples and harvest fall squash and root vegetables — all ideal for warm meals to end a blustery day.

Fall is a great time to talk to your kids about season change. One way to do this is to teach them about the equinoxes. Equinoxes occur in Spring and in Autumn; when the sun crosses the equator, night and day are equal lengths. Lucky for you, Cookies by Design has gift baskets for every season to help your child visualize this educational session, and close it with a sweet finish! Check out our Fall Cookies here!

As the months become colder and cloudier, we also recommend teaching children about the weather patterns and changes. Customize our When Pigs Fly (plenty of clouds!) BouTray to teach kids the difference between cumulus, stratus, and cirrus! You can break the cookies up in bits to show cloud formation and to make sure every kid gets a bite!

From all of us at Cookies by Design: happy start of Autumn! We hope the leaves in your neighborhood turn glorious colors and you get the opportunity to apple pick to your heart’s desire.
