We love unicorns!

Especially, the rainbow variety. We love parties, (especially the rainbow variety! And we love cookies. One day, it came to our attention that these three (awesome) things go together like glitter and smiles, so we put together our seven best ideas for throwing the Unicorn Party of your rainbow-laden dreams!

Don’t worry—no actual magic is required—these are as easy as they are whimsical and can be adapted to meet your party (and sparkle) needs.

Pretty Picture Wall

It’s not a party with a hashtag and a gorgeous picture wall to make every selfie and group picture unique. The dazzling backgrounds on Instagram often come from the minds of famous designers, but you don’t need years of design experience to create something perfectly suited for this party’s unicorn theme. We build ours from three basic parts, every time:

Background + Accent + Personal Touch = Amazing photos

For your Unicorn Party try this easy and quick photo wall combo below!

You’ll Need:

• Assorted party balloons in orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple
• Pink gift tissue paper or gift wrapping paper
• Chalkboard and chalk

STEP ONE

Start with a hot pink background by taping a single layer of tissue paper or giftwrapping paper to a wall that’s clear of furniture or anything else distracting, in a well-lit area. The paper can be matte, shiny, or even holographic—add what you love!

STEP TWO

Tape on balloons in orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple on top of the tissue or giftwrapping paper you added in Step One. (After blowing them up of course.) The size is totally up to you! We love metallic ones. You can even go with fancy lettering (See our #designinspo, below!) or balloon shapes.

STEP THREE

Write your party’s hashtag (it can be anything you want, to help you find all the fun photos later) on a chalkboard and leave it next to your photo wall for guests to hold while taking photos. (Pro Tip: Decorate your chalkboard with paint or glitter.)

PSST! To make this cocktail for everyone to enjoy, substitute the champagne for Berry-flavored La Croix mineral water, Tonic water, or Sprite. We like calling it rainbow unicorn soda.

Glittery Games

What’s a party without games? (Answer: Boring!) Try one of these easy ones, for great memories, pictures, and plenty of good humor. This is a unicorn-worthy spin on an old-fashioned game.

Pin the Tail on the Unicorn

You’ll need:

Unicorn Yarn Tails (PSST: Make tails following this tutorial. We suggest using different colors for even more fun!)

Tape (Use a strip of tape attached at the top of your unicorn “Tail” for the game.)

Unicorn Print out or Poster (Pin up a cute unicorn poster of your choosing. We like these—so cute!)

The rules:

Blind-folded or with your eyes closed, spin in a circle three times with your unicorn tail. Then, try to tape it accurately to where it belongs on the unicorn in the poster. The person who gets closest to placing it over the tail of the unicorn in the poster wins!

Alternate rules

With eyes open, spin in a circle for in one direction 10 times, and then other ten times. Then, do your best to tape your unicorn yarn tail over the tail of the unicorn in the poster.
